Gram Nirman Kelavani Mandal (GNKM), Thava, Dist : Bhruch, Gujarat. GNKM ( founded by the veteran, Shri Mansinh Harisinh Mangrola in 1966 )
GNKM was established for providing education facilities to the tribal children Starting with 12 children in 1966. now there are more than 2600 children ( about 65% boys and 35% girls). It provides free / at nominal costs hostel facilities to nearly 2000 students. GNKM is located in extremely backward tribal area bharuch dist. and provides educational facilities right from KG to graduation in Rural Development, and also runs a B.Ed. college.
For the last two years, Caring Friends has launched a major effort to upgrade the quality of education with the help of their close associates, Raju-Dipti of Jeevantirth, Ahmedabad, Entire funding of Rs. 18 lakhs for the current year is being provided by caring Friends.
Due to efforts of Caring Friends, one of the leading pharma companies, Sun Pharma has agreed to recruit about 100 youth every year who have passed their 10th or 12th exams from GNKM and who want to make a career in organize sector. The training of the first batch has already started.
GNKM is also having about 50 acres of land for agriculture. It also runs “ Kamdhenu Gaushala” and his having more than 100 cows. The students learn agriculture and animal husbandry.
Our Mentor and Savior Caring Friends
Gram Nirman Kelavni Mandal is was founded by veteran Gandhian Mansighbhai Mangarola. Because of compassion and love for Tribal culture and Tribal people’s urgent need for education and development, the institution has never said no to the aspiring the Tribal children. Unfortunately that was one of the main reason for the deficit of about 75 lakhs every year. The institution was in extremely bad financial position and that also affected the quality of education. Under this condition Caring Friends came to the rescue of GNKM in a big way. Rameshbhai Kacholia rightly says that, “God has his own ways of doing the things” – and for GNKM Caring Friends is the one important God’s way to work !
CFs not only helped financially in a big way but also took positive steps for the overall development of institute – especially in the fields of Quality Education, Accounting Procedure, Financial Management, Infrastructural Development and Administrative Reform. We also take happy note that Raju Deepti of Jeevantirth – another partner organization of CFs and senior C.A. and Company Executive Shri Kaushikbhai Shah constantly helps us as a representative of CFs.
It will be unfair on our part if we do not mention here Karia brothers and Surenbhai Kapadia of Arpan Foundation, USA for their valuable support in all respect. Arpan Foundation has also helped in a big way especially during grave financial crises. At present CFs and Arpan Foundation have become main supporter and mentor for GNKM – Thava.
